I woke up one morning last Fall with dreams of Pumpkin Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast, which recently inspired me to make this Strawberry Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast as a special Valentine’s Day treat.
I started with fresh strawberries and decided to make my own strawberry cream cheese instead of buying it. I then cut the bread into heart shapes with a cookie cutter, which is totally unnecessary, but adorable. After all, Valentine’s weekend is coming up, and what’s better than breakfast in bed?
–1 Loaf of Whole Wheat Bread
-2 Large Eggs
-1/2 Cup of Milk
-1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
For the Strawberry Cream Cheese:
-1 Cup of Stawberries, chopped
-1/4 Cup Powdered Sugar
-4 Ounces of Cream Cheese, softened
Mix together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until creamy.
In a separate bowl or deep dish, mix together eggs, milk, and vanilla. Briefly dip each side of the bread in it.
In a nonstick skillet, fry each side of the French toast on medium heat until deep golden.
Keep warm in the oven while you make the other slices.
