I’ve never had bananas foster before and saw this recipe on The Pioneer Woman’s website.  It looks absolutely amazing, fun to make, and most ingredients were already on hand.  All I had to do was run to the store to buy some vanilla ice cream.  One of these days I’ll get an ice cream maker!

This recipe will easily serve 4-6, so if you’re just making it for two consider halving the recipe.  Although, I stuck the leftovers in the fridge and reheated it and it was still just as tasty the next day!

My best advice is to have everything already sitting out ready for you as you make this.  It goes by quickly and you won’t have time to dig out your ingredients during the process.

-1 Stick Butter
-1 Cup Dark Brown Sugar
-1/2 Cup Heavy Cream
-1/2 Cup Dark Rum
-2 Bananas, Sliced
-1/2 Cup Chopped Pecans
-Dash Of Cinnamon

Melt a stick of butter in a pan on medium-high heat.

Yes, the whole stick.  Do it with pride.

Add a cup of brown sugar.

Stir it up with heavy cream.

Don’t feel ashamed.  Winter is coming and you need some more insulation…

Stir in bananas.  I just broke mine off in little pieces, no sense in dirtying up a knife and cutting board.

Add chopped nuts.

The mixture should be good and bubbly.

Pour in rum and light on fire!  Please be careful!

The flame should go out quickly, in thirty seconds or less.  Remove from the burner and stir in a dash of cinnamon.

Serve over vanilla ice cream!
Absolutely amazing.  I will definitely be making this again and again.
