To conclude thedrivencook’s “Greek Week,” I’ll share with you one of my favorite uses of ouzo. Ouzo is an anise (think: licorice) flavored liquor that is popular in Greece.
Ouzo is also great on the rocks or mixed with water- but it turns cloudy white. The essential oil of anise causes it to separate, creating an emulsion. Although it looks a little funky, it still tastes great!
The great part about this drink is that the appearance is still normal- but served very cold. Hence why you’ll want to prepare it just like a martini!
-1 1/4 ounce vodka
-1/4 ounce ouzo
-Olive, for garnish
